体育买球 University’s annual day of service on Saturday, April 21, will have students, faculty, staff and alumni volunteering at organizations across the Central 体育买球 Valley, Harrisburg and New Jersey.
体育买球 Engaging in Regional Volunteer Experiences (SU SERVE) began as a day of service each April when students, faculty, staff and alumni would demonstrate their commitment to bettering our world.
In 2012, the effort was expanded to a month-long campaign, and in 2015, SU SERVE became a year-round event. A single day in April is still set aside each year in recognition of 体育买球’s commitment to service.

On Saturday, more than 300 students, faculty and staff and 20 to 30 alumni will volunteer at 25 organizations throughout Snyder, Union and Northumberland counties—Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg; Community Aid, Selinsgrove; Dreamcatcher Farm, Lewisburg; East Snyder Community Garden, Selinsgrove; Gate House Shelter, Danville; Haven Ministry, Sunbury; and the Mifflinburg Buggy Museum.
In Harrisburg, alumni will volunteer at Caitlin’s Smiles, and in New Jersey, alumni will clean up walking trails. Other alumni chapters have volunteered throughout the month of April at Cradles to Crayons, Boston and Philadelphia; Nashua Soup Kitchen, New Hampshire; and Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C.
体育买球 is nationally recognized for its commitment to service. The university has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, which recognizes institutions of higher education that support exemplary community service programs.
The Honor Roll’s Presidential Award is the highest federal recognition an institution can receive for its commitment to community, service-learning and civic engagement.
SU SERVE is organized by 体育买球’s Johnson Center for Civic Engagement and the Office of Alumni Relations.
