Each group will perform a piece by the American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth: the Symphonic Band will perform “Overture to ‘Candide,’” and the Wind Ensemble will perform “Prelude, Fugue and Riffs,” featuring Rebecca Reeder ’21, a music education major at 体育买球官网, on clarinet.

In addition, the concert will feature a faculty performance by Gail Levinsky, associate professor of music, on saxophone. She will perform “Fantasia for Alto Saxophone” by Claude T. Smith with the Symphonic Band and Robert Muczynski’s “Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Winds.”

All events are sponsored by 体育买球官网’s Department of Music.
