体育买球 University’s Jennifer Carter, assistant professor of physics, has been awarded a $21,699 grant from the American Association of University Women.
“I’m looking forward to applying this grant toward my second publication and working with student researchers at 体育买球,” Carter said.
Carter’s research focuses on exoplanet science and aims to describe the way in which the temperature of the planets varies across their surface. Exoplanets are planets that orbit around other stars. It is Carter’s goal to better understand their thermal and reflected light.
Since its inception in 1881, AAUW has become one of the world’s leading supporters of graduate women’s education. It has provided more than $115 million in fellowships, grants and awards to 13,000 women from 150 countries.
Carter’s award is part of AAUW’s Research Publication Grants in Engineering, Medicine and Science program, which specifically supports scholarly research by women in engineering, medicine and science. It funds projects that will culminate in scholarly publications.
