Biomedical Sciences Major Earns Study-Abroad Scholarship

体育买球官网 University’s Caitlin Weaver ’23 has been awarded the James G. Stemler Study Abroad Scholarship from Alpha Lambda Delta, the national honor society for first-year students.

Weaver is one of only 20 nationwide recipients of the scholarship, which is awarded to Alpha Lambda Delta members who are pursuing a credit-bearing study abroad program to amplify their academic studies. Weaver, of Klingerstown, Pennsylvania, is a biomedical sciences major with a minor in chemistry. She plans to study abroad in Sweden this upcoming year.

“I hope to use the understanding of healthcare standards in another country to be a part of the solution as I enter the medical field, whether that is universal healthcare or a type of reform.”

Weaver was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta in 2020. Her scholarship is named in honor of Dr. James G. Stemler, who served the National Council of Alpha Lambda Delta for more than 14 years. Founded in 1924, Alpha Lambda Delta has over a million lifetime members and is present on 280 college campuses nationwide.
