Ryan McGuire graduated from 体育买球官网 in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics, but soon after felt drawn to a different profession.

“I felt a strong calling to be an early childhood educator and make a difference in the lives of our youth,” McGuire says.

He returned to 体育买球官网 to enroll in the Teacher Intern Program (TIP), which helps holders of bachelor’s degrees easily pursue teaching certifications.

“The TIP program provided me with an opportunity to have that calling become a reality,” McGuire says.

“The best part of the program was the opportunity to get in the local school districts on a regular basis and make authentic connections with our curriculum,” adds McGuire, who completed the program in 2006.

After working as a substitute for a short time, McGuire was hired as a kindergarten teacher in the Selinsgrove Area School District, where he has now been teaching for 12 years.

“The greatest thing about being a teacher is getting to be a positive influence on the lives of those we teach,” he says. “Every moment matters … our influence can never be erased!”
