Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, the Student Health Center is available to all SU students. Consider using the Student Health Center if you don’t have insurance, get injured or sick on campus, or need to squeeze in a doctor’s appointment between your classes.
Yes, the gym is free to all students and is accessible even during breaks. Cancel your local gym membership and take advantage of the SU gym, pool, track, and other facilities!
You are allowed to stay in a friend’s room overnight once in a while. We encourage this if the weather gets bad while you’re on campus or if you have been on campus, especially late, one evening and don’t feel you can safely drive home.
Yes, the campus food pantries are for all students. Consider using this if you run out of meals on your dining plan, can’t afford a dining plan, or are experiencing food insecurity at home.
Some offices don’t need student workers over the winter and summer breaks, but some do. Talk to your supervisor about your situation. If your current position isn’t available over breaks, check Handshake for open positions.
If you have not left yet for campus, please remain at home, and stay safe. Contact professors, supervisors, etc. and let them know you cannot make it to campus.
Stay put and wait for the weather to clear. If you don’t think you can get home, see if one of your friends can let you stay in their room overnight. If you don’t have a place to stay, contact the Hawk Hub for assistance.
Commuter spaces
Commuter Lounge
The commuter lounge is located on the lower level of the Charles B. Degenstein Campus Center. Enjoy comfortable seating, Wi-Fi and use of a refrigerator, freezer and microwave. Stop by any time of the day when you are on campus.
The Commuter Student Organization also has classroom G08 reserved in Bogar Hall as an additional space for commuters to study and relax in during weekday evenings.
There are also great spaces to relax or study inBlough-Weis Libraryand theCenter for Academic Success (CAS).

Parking
You may park in any student parking lot. There is a parking lot reserved for commuter students that you access via Sassafras Street.
Student Meal Plans
If eating on campus is a better fit, we have you covered.O&M Dininghasdining plansto fit everyone. There are places campus-wide to grab some food; you can also usemobile ordering.
Ride Sharing
Interested in sharing a ride? Fill out the form below to see if anyone from your area is making the same drive. Our staff can arrange a meet-up and offer suggestions on how to coordinate.
Campus Safety
Campus Safetycan be reached anytime on570-372-4444or extension 4444 from a phone on campus. Their team not only helps with disabled vehicles and vehicle lockouts but can escort you on foot or in a vehicle. Visit Campus Safety in the 18thStreet Commons building if you need any assistance with your SU ID or Commuter Lounge access.
Lockers
Tired of carrying around all your books? You can reserve a locker in the Degenstein Campus Center for the semester by visiting theHawk Hub. The lockers are free; you must provide your own lock.
