体育买球官网 University’s Department of Philosophy is hosting its fourth annual celebration of World Philosophy Day on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 4:30–6 p.m. in Blough-Weis Library, Room 104.

UNESCO established World Philosophy Day in 2005 as an occasion for collective exercise in free, reasoned and informed thinking on the major challenges of our time, and to promote greater awareness of the need for philosophical reflection throughout society.

This year’s celebration will feature discussions facilitated by:

  • Students from Philosophy, Ethics, and the Environment (Phil 226) discussing current issues in environmental ethics.
  • The Philosophy Club hosting its “Ask a Philosopher” booth.
  • Special guest Max Kramer, Ph.D., hosting an “Ask a Bioethicist” booth. Kramer is an assistant professor of bioethics at Geisinger College of Health Sciences and clinical ethicist for Geisinger Health System.

All are welcome for conversation and refreshments.
