About Me
Tara Savarino has performed leading roles in Cosi Fan Tutte, The Mikado, Hansel and Gretel, The Medium, Kismet, Le Petit Duc and Utopia Limited. She made her Lincoln Center debut in 2002 as the Central Park Jogger in The Children’s Requiem, a new musical based on the history of youth violence in New York City. Her solo work includes Carmina Burana with the Tufts University Chorale and Orchestra and various concerts at Kings Chapel (Boston) under the direction of Daniel Pinkham. She also completed an Opera and Cultural Studies Program in Rome, Italy, where she was a member and soloist of a small chamber ensemble. She has performed with the Harrisburg Symphony and has given recitals at the State Street Academy of Music (Harrisburg) and at Messiah University (Mechanicsburg). She is a frequent soloist at Market Square church in Harrisburg. In June 2007 she made her European debut performing with her husband in Ravanusa, Sicily. She is a member of NATS and the Voice Foundation. She has degrees in English, Vocal Performance and Voice Pedagogy from Tufts University, New England Conservatory and Westminster Choir College, respectively.
Tara is also a Singing Voice Specialist and works with professional voice users recovering from vocal injury. She gives workshops on vocal health and anatomy throughout the Central Pennsylvania region. Tara lives with her husband and three sons outside of Harrisburg, PA. In her spare time, she enjoys all things outdoors, weight training, and cooking.
