Maggie Bachman ’26 has been honored by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge with a place on its 2025 Student Voting Honor Roll for her work in supporting her peers in the 2024 election.
“This recognition means so much because, even during an incredibly challenging semester, our team remained committed to helping students engage in our democracy,” said Bachman, a double major inlegal studiesandmanagementfrom Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. “I was drawn to voter registration work because I believe in the power of community — and at 体育买球, we support each other through everything. Being part of an initiative that empowers students to make their voices heard is something I’ll always be proud of.”
As a fall 2024 co-intern for 体育买球’s non-partisanAchieve, Lead, Vote!initiative, Bachman dedicated her time to registering and promoting voter participation among students. She assembled a team of student leaders and organized a comprehensive calendar of informational tabling, educational andvoter registrationcelebration events, as well as get-out-the-vote communications. Collaborating with her co-intern, Bachman was invited to speak in 18 classes, staffed 34 tabling events and ultimately registered 417 new student voters.
With her co-intern, she devised an outreach strategy to involve various groups of students in these events, including club leaders, athletes, resident assistants, and fraternity and sorority members. Furthermore, Bachman secured an off-campus internship with the Snyder County Election Office, where she worked as a liaison to SU’s voter promotion efforts. Bachman also kept students updated on the status of ballots, which informed 体育买球’s strategy to support students in casting their vote at the county office or polling location.
Bachman was nominated for the ALL IN recognition by Francy Magee, vice president for student life & dean of students.
“Maggie consistently demonstrated confidence in the systems and enthusiasm for amplifying her fellow students’ voices through the voter process,” Magee said. “体育买球’s success for encouraging student voter participation is directly attributable to the professionalism, passion and organizational skills of Maggie Bachman.”
