Alumna Reading to Mark Annual Edition of RiverCraft

Melissa Goodrich ’11Writer, educator and 体育买球 University alumna Melissa Goodrich will read from a selection of her work at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 16, in the Cunningham Center for Music and Art’s Stretansky Concert Hall.

The reading is part of the Seavey Reading Series and will launch the 2018 edition of RiverCraft, one of 体育买球’s student-run literary magazines.

The event is free and open to the public.

Goodrich received her bachelor’s degree in creative writing from 体育买球 in 2011 and her MFA in fiction from the University of Arizona. She is a two-time recipient of 体育买球’s Juliet Gibson Memorial Award for Outstanding Student Writer and in 2016 received a Pushcart Prize Nomination for her story “Anna George.” Her work has appeared in American Short Fiction, Artful Dodge, The Kenyon Review Online, Passages North, PANK, Word Riot, Gigantic Sequins, among others. Goodrich is the author of the fiction collection Daughters of Monsters and the poetry chapbook IF YOU WHAT.

She currently teaches elementary school in Tucson, Ariz.

RiverCraft is one of 体育买球 University’s annual, student-run literary magazines and publishes student poetry, short stories and novellas. It has been published under different titles since 1964.
