About Me

Chelsey Everest Eiel (she/her) is a social worker, educator and consultant whose work in trauma intervention is directly informed by lived and professional experience across various community and educational settings. She previously worked at Swarthmore College as the Associate Director of Title IX, where she provided case management to students who experienced and/or caused harm in their intimate relationships as well as designed and implemented trauma-informed training and education around sexual violence prevention and response. Prior to that, she taught gender & sexuality studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, as well as composition and research writing at numerous institutions in the Greater Philadelphia region. In addition to teaching, she presented and facilitated writing workshops on healing and survivorship at the University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers University-Camden, and others. Eiel received her Master of Fine Arts degree in creative nonfiction from the University of Southern Maine, where she researched women’s trauma narratives and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Service degree in clinical social work from the Graduate School for Social Work and Social Research at Bryn Mawr College. She and Bindu Jayne are founding partners of Sage Consulting, a firm offering Title IX services such as training, education, investigation and adjudication services, facilitation in restorative processes and policy consultation.

Chelsey’s clinical experience includes college counseling with students who have experiences of intimate harm, as well as experiential trauma therapy in a group practice setting. This work draws upon various modalities, and has included concepts and interventions from EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices.
